Dr. Diba represented our group at the World Biomaterials Congress (WBC) 2024, particularly through the successful organization of a Special Scientific Session as well as the Young Investigators’ & Students’ Event.
WBC is the most major international conference dedicated to the field of biomaterials, which is organized every four years by the International Union of Societies for Biomaterials Science and Engineering (IUS-BSE). The Special Session on “Hierarchical Biomaterials from Particulate Building Blocks” brought together research involving nano- and micro-particles as building blocks for the design of biomaterials, such as colloidal and granular systems. The session featured highlight talks by Prof. Laura De Laporte (DWI-Leibniz Institute for Interactive Materials, Germany), Prof. Thomas Angelini (University of Florida, USA), and Prof. Huanan Wang (Dalian University of Technology, China). The session was very well received by the community, for which we would like to thank session co-chair Dr. Marian Hettiaratchi from the University of Oregon and co-organizer Dr. Taimoor Qazi from Purdue University for their valuable contributions.
