Dr. Ilze Donderwinkel joined our group as a Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions (MSCA) Postdoctoral Fellow as of 1 July 2024. Her research will focus on developing injectable hydrogels for the regeneration of load-bearing tissues.
Ilze completed her PhD at Monash University (Australia) in the lab of Prof. Jess Frith, where she investigated the design of hydrogel scaffolds for the bone-tendon interface. She then moved to Brisbane, Australia, to work as a postdoctoral researcher at the University of Queensland.
In her free time, Ilze enjoys baking and outings with friends, especially when there is wine. Having obtained her BSc and MSc in Molecular Life Sciences from Radboud University, we are excited that this fellowship brings her back to Nijmegen!
We look forward to the innovative contributions Ilze will bring to our research team.
